If you’re searching for places to cool off in London, look no further! This comprehensive guide will direct you to the top locations for paddling pools, splash pads, fountains, lidos, and more.
Please always check before you travel. Especially if it’s a long journey. Sometimes these water play features are closed due to faults or maintenance. Unfortunately, I’m not responsible for wasted journeys.

1.Elephant Springs, Elephant Park
📍Elephant Rd, London SE17 1UB.
You can find parking on the Parkopedia app but expect it to be pricy. The nearest station is Elephant and Castle.
2.Princess Diana Memorial fountain
📍W Carriage Dr, London W2 2UH
Open daily from 10am – 8pm. I would recommend getting public transport here.
3.Britannia Leisure centre
📍Pitfield St, London N1 5FT
They have a pool as well as leisure water including an interactive flume, splash pad and toddler pool for all your water activity needs. Pre-booking is required.
4.Merchants Square Fountain Maze, Paddington
📍Merchant Sq, London, W2, England. The nearest stations are Paddington and Edgware Road.
Running from 7.00am through until 5pm during the week and 9am – 5pm at weekends. They also host a load of FREE events throughout the year so it’s worth giving them a follow on IG!
5.Splashlands Stanborough Park
📍Welwyn Garden City AL8 6WW
Car park is available. The nearest station is Welwyn Garden City.
Open every day from 10am to 6pm, through to the last Sunday in September.
Entrance to the Splashlands is free however it is advised that you book a session through the Better UK app.
6.Pleasure Gardens, Stratford
📍Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
The nearest train, tube and bus stops are at Stratford, Stratford International, Hackney Wick, Pudding Mill and Leyton stations.
There activities for kids of all ages, including sand pits, water play areas, swings and even a climbing wall down to the riverside.
7.Swanley Park, Kent
📍New Barn Rd, Swanley BR8 7PW
Paid for parking is available. The nearest station is Swanley.
Apparently no pre-booking is required this year!
8.Cassiobury Park, Watford
📍Gade Ave, Watford WD18 7LG
Paid for parking is available. The first 2 hours are FREE. The nearest station is Watford.
There are two splash pools, as well as 30 state-of-the-art splash pads, water jets, and fountains. There are also changing room facilities and toilets nearby.

9.Fellowship Square & Fountain, Waltham Forest

Nearest Tube:Walthamstow Central
The fountain will be on between 9am – 7pm and will feature a range of jets, lights and music throughout the day.
10.Whittington Park, Islington

Nearest Tube: Archway. Check the Parkopedia app for nearby parking.
Children’s playground with sand pits, a water play feature and accessible toilets.
11.The Magic Garden, Hampton Court

The nearest station is Hampton Court.
The Magic Garden entry is included in your admission ticket to Hampton Court Palace (members go free). Magic Garden only tickets are not available.
12.Granary Square, King’s Cross

The fountains are open daily and are on during daylight hours
13.Somerset House
📍Strand, London WC2R 1LA
Charing Cross, Temple and Covent Garden are some of the nearest stations.
The fountains are currently switched on daily 10.00 – 23.00. There are currently six rows in operation.
14. Splash Park Barking. Open from May 13th

There are two car parks inside Barking Park – at the South Park Drive entrance (FREE) and at the Longbridge Road entrance (PAID)
15. Brent Cross Beach. Open from May 14th
📍Brent Cross Shopping Centre, Brent Cross, Hendon NW4 3FP. FREE parking all day. The nearest station is Brent Cross.
16. The Strand Lido Pool. Open from May 28th
📍Pier Road, Gillingham, ME7 1TT
The Strand Lido Pool will be open every weekend from Saturday 28 May 2022 for thesummer season.
From Monday 24 July 2022 both the lido pool and outside paddling pool will be open daily for the summer holidays.
17. Gadebridge Splash Park
📍Leighton Buzzard Rd, Hemel Hempstead HP1 1DN
There is a free car park and pay and display car park. The nearest station is Combe Street.
Gadebridge Splash Park is open. The splash park will be open everyday from 10am to 6pm until early September. There is no need to book.
18. Leyton Leisure Centre

A cool leisure pool with flume and an aqua play area. Pre-booking required.
19. Guildford Spectrum

Their Leisure Pool is perfect for the whole family with 8 amazing water slides, a crazy wave machine and an interactive children’s section. To avoid disappointment they advise that you pre book your Leisure Pool session online.
20. Windsor Leisure Centre

Windsor and Eton central is the nearest station. The car park at Windsor Leisure Centre is operated on a pay & display basis

21. The John Madejski Garden – V&A museum

22. Aldershot Lido

The nearest station is Aldershot. Parking is FREE
The lido will be open from Saturday 28 May through to Sunday 5 June, for the May half term, and then weekends only until Friday 1 July, when it will open every day.
23. The Wave

The nearest station is Coventry. Paid for nearby parking is available.
So it’s nowhere near london but it’s so worth the visit! We took a train from Euston to Coventry last year and we really enjoyed our time there! One of the best water parks we’ve been to!
24. Dukes Meadows
📍The Pavilion, Market Drive, Chiswick W4 2RX
I usually park on Edensor road. I’m pretty sure it’s free but we haven’t been in ages so I can’t confirm if anything has changed. Chiswick and Barnes Bridge Railway stations are close by and under 10 minutes walk.
The paddling pool isnow open 10.30am to 6pm, every day.We love it here! There’s also a cafe and a sandpit!
25. Coral Reef Bracknell’s Waterworld
📍Nine Mile Ride, Bracknell RG12 7JQ
Parking is £4.60 for 5 hours and all day parking is £6.70.
Thrilling waterslides, an erupting volcano, a pirate ship and a variety of other features, there’s something for everyone in the pool area.
26. Westfield White City

28. California Country Park

Paid for parking is available.
The paddling pool will be reopen on 16th July 2022. Entry will be by online booking only. Book here. There are two ticket options available:
£2.60 for anyone of any age entering the water, and
£1 for adults who need to enter the pool area to supervise childrenbut not the pool itself.

They have a car park and you can park here for up to 4 hours. The nearest station is Faversham.
Year-round indoor swimming, with heated lido and family fun pools in summertime and beyond.
Admission to Faversham Pools this summer is by pre-booked tickets with a limited number of walk-up tickets available if we have capacity.
31. Chineham Park Splash Pad

35. Jeppe Hein Appearing Rooms
📍Level 2 Terrace at the Southbank Centre.
The nearest station is Waterloo. It’s in the congestion charge zone so I don’t recommend driving.

36. Tooting Bec Lido

FREE parking is available. The nearest station is Tooting Bec.
You get 3 hours of swimming, sunbathing and fun! You can arrive arrive at any time but must vacate the site at the end of the session time. Pre-booking required! Tickets start from £5.20
37. Hampton pool

The nearest station is Hampton. They have a free car park but spaces are limited.
During their recreational swims, they have half the pool kept free for casual swimming and playing. Pre-booking required.
38. Arena Square Wembley fountains

The nearest station is Wembley Park. There is a car park a short walk away.
There’s plenty of things to do in Wembley including Boxpark, the children’s playground and plenty of family friendly restaurants!
39. Faversham Pools

The nearest station is Faversham. Plenty of parking is available just a few steps from the Pools, in Faversham’s Central Car Park.
40. Exchange Square at Broadgate

The nearest station is Liverpool Street (it’s right behind the station) Moorgate isn’t too far away too.
There are plenty of places to eat nearby and it’s a short walk away from Spitalfields market and Spitalfields farm.

The nearest station is Denmark Hill. There’s plenty parking nearby. It’s FREE to park on weekends. There are parking restrictions on weekdays from 12pm-2pm.

Butlins have an incredible pool and it’s worth worth the visit!
53. Kew Gardens Water Garden

Kew Bridgestation is the nearest station. Limited parking available at Kew Gardens car park (TW9 3AF) Parking costs £7 per day. You can pay on site, or with the paybyphone app.
In the Water Garden, kids can explore the stream and water feature with stepping stones inspired by the giant waterlily.
Tickets start from £4. Anyone who is in receipt of Pension credit or Universal credit to pre book online at www.kew.org or to walk up and pay their £1 on the gate.
54. Legoland Splash Safari
📍Winkfield Rd, Windsor SL4 4AY
The nearest stations are Windsor & Eton Riverside and Windsor & Eton Central. You can also get the 702 Greenline bus from London Victoria. Parking for the day will cost you £7 if you book in advance.
Legoland can be a pricey day out so look out for special packs of Kellogg’s for discounts and/or considering using your Tesco Clubcard vouchers for money off tickets.
55. Fishers farm park Splash attack
📍 Newpound Lane, Wisborough Green RH14 0EG
The closest train station is Billingshurst (Distance 3 miles – not advisable on foot, car access only). They have a free car park!
Fishers farm is a brilliant day out with plenty of indoor and outdoor play for kids of all ages! There are plenty of cool animals to check out too. You can book tickets.
56. Wellington Country Park splash zone

The nearest station is Reading. The car park is free to use!
There is plenty to do at Wellington country Park such as the animal farm, jumping pillows and more! You can book tickets here.
57.Drusillas water play area

The Get Wet! splash pads are open from the start of the Easter school holidays until the end of September each year. Book here.
58. The Beach Bluewater

Greenhithe is the closest train station to Bluewater. Parking is free all day.
The beach at Bluewater is reopening on Saturday the 23rd July 2022. You can’t book entry and ride tokens here.
59. Croydon recreation ground Paddling pool

Clock House is the nearest station. Free on street parking is available.

60. Lammas recreation park

Staines is the nearest station. This is a pay and display car park. Payment can be made by cash or credit/debit card at the machines. You cannot pay by phone.
The Lammas Splash Park will be opening on 27 May. The opening times are from 10am to 4.45pm with an hour break between 1-2pm to refill water tanks.

The nearest station is Streatham. There is a small car park at the top of streatham common south.
Current opening times are unknown but it has definitely reopened. There’s a playground as well as a cafe. Great day out for the family.

68. Beale park Paddling pool.
📍 Lower Basildon, Pangbourne, Reading RG8 9NW
Pangbourne train station is approximately 1.4 miles from Beale Wildlife Park. Parking is free.
We’ve yet to visit but there’s plenty to do here including the paddling pool. More info can be found here.
69. Odds farm water play area

Beaconsfield is the nearest station. Parking is free.
Odds farm park is a wonderful place to take kids of all ages. Their unique water play area has 28 water play features and over 80 metres of channels, streams and pools. More info here.

Plenty of pay and display parking is available. Uxbridge is the nearest underground station, at the end of the Piccadilly line.
